Skye

On Friday we had a visit from Skye. Skye is a Flat Coated Retriever who me and my human family puppy walked last year (puppy walking is where you foster assistance puppies in training for a year) Skye was a good friend to me when she was living with us. Skye was happy to see us all again and I was happy to see her. She wanted to play with all the toys. So all us dogs played together (her pal Monty who she is training with as well as Chester and Hannah)

Skye is training to become an autism assistance dog. And so is Bramble except she is at the "puppy training" stage (where she has to learn to have good manners (aka basic assistance dog skills) and be socialised and housebroken (but she's done that part already) Whereas Skye is at the "advanced" training stage where she has to learn some more complicated things.

Bramble and Skye get to go into shops because they have special jackets which means they are allowed everywhere. I wish us other dogs could go everywhere too! But luckily the pet shop lets dogs in so I sometimes get to go in their and pick some new toys! Anyway the pet shop would be my favourite place to go anyway.

Bramble has her own blog too - so you can follow her journey to becoming an autism assistance dog

  1. I read about Skye's visit with Chester and Hannah on Bramble's blog! Great post - I love your blogs and following them.

So do you only puppy walk Bramble? Or is Bramble actually YOUR dog? I am confused? If she was your dog she wouldn't be doing the training for it - would she? Because then she would have to leave? :( Correct me if I am wrong please! :)

Good post - enjoyed reading; again!

    1. Hi Jessica,

We are only fostering/puppy walking Bramble. So she's NOT our dog. Same with Skye. We only have them for about a year, then they move into training and get partnered with a child with autism and become their assistance dogs.

Glad you are enjoying Amber's blog, we are loving yours too!
